John Brook's Antartica Talk

On Thursday, we were very lucky to have John Brooks, a grandfather of one of our students, come and talk to us about his trip to Antartica. It was fascinating to here about how different Antartica is to where we live and the work that John was doing there with a team of scientists. Here are some photos from his time there...

Discovery Time

Every Friday, we get together in our Manuka Hub to have Discovery Time where we get to use our imaginations and have fun doing a range of different activities. Check out the photos of Room 16 in action!

The Life Cycle of Plants

Last week, we started learning about plants, how they grow and what they need to survive. We have started growing some seeds so we can see this in action and this week we will be planting out some vegetable seedlings which we hope will be ready to eat by the time we go on a picnic at the end of the term.

The Ginger Beer Picnic -Tasting Our Brew

On Friday, we got to all taste our ginger beer! It had a lot of fizz when we cracked it open but most of us thought it was quite tasty!

Bottling Our Ginger Beer

On Thursday, we made up our ginger beer brew, adding lemons, sugar and water to our ginger beer bug. We dissolved all the ingredients together and then bottled the ginger beer from big barrels. We can't wait to taste it this week!
